Our Council
Little St. Margaret’s Kindergarten is an independent, not-for-profit early childhood education service committed to providing high-quality care and learning experiences for children. As a community-based organisation, the successful operation of the kindergarten relies heavily on the support and active involvement of parent volunteers who serve as members of the Kindergarten Council (Board).
The Council plays a vital role in the governance and strategic direction of the service, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and supporting the educational and operational goals of the kindergarten. Council members contribute their time and expertise across various areas such as finance, policy development, facilities management, fundraising, and community engagement.
By volunteering on the Council, parents and carers have a meaningful opportunity to be involved in the life of the kindergarten, help shape its future, and build strong connections within the school community.
Testimonials from our council members

"This is my 5th year as an LSM Parents Council Member, and 3rd as Chairperson. It’s been a privilege to contribute to the kindergarten and actively participate in my children’s early education. Being a part of the Parent Council has given me a sense of belonging within the LSM community, and helped me to forge strong, lasting friendships with the other parents."

"I have had the pleasure of being on the LSM Council for two and half years. Initially, I was secretary and legal representative, and now I am legal representative and class representative for one of the 3 year old classes. The LSM council is a great way to contribute to the kinder and more generally the LSM community."

"Being on the LSM Council has allowed me to have a front row seat to the wonderful work that the educators at the kinder are doing every day. It is a pleasure to support this dedicated group of educators to shape our child’s learning environment. "I first joined the LSM council in 2021 as a class representative and Marketing and Communications officer when my eldest son, Harrison, was in the Blue group. In 2025, I am the LSM secretary whilst my youngest son, Noah, is in the Yellow group. Through serving on the Council, I have not only enjoyed the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to my children's education, but have also benefited from forming lovely friendships and a sense of connection with other LSM families.
