Extended Care Program – Supporting Busy Families with Flexibility and Quality

At Little St Margaret’s, we understand the demands of modern family life, which is why we offer a flexible Extended Care Program designed to support families who may need care outside of our formal kindergarten hours.

While our core kindergarten program begins at 9:00am, families are welcome to drop off their children as early as 8:30am each morning at no additional cost. This gentle start to the day helps ease transitions and supports working families.

Afternoon extended care is available:

• Monday to Thursday: until 6:00pm

• Friday: until 5:00pm

Please note that extended care is a separate offering from the core kindergarten program and is provided at an additional cost. It is a thoughtfully structured service, not merely supervision, and is run by our dedicated Activity Group Leader who is passionate about creating engaging, nurturing experiences during these hours.

Our Extended Care Program is purposefully designed to reflect the same values and quality you can expect from our kindergarten program, while also offering children a calm and enriching way to wind down from their day.

Children are provided with:

• Open-ended experiences that encourage creativity, curiosity, and exploration

• Time and space to relax, including access to quiet reading nooks and soft rest areas

• A wide variety of activities, such as arts and crafts, puzzles, storytelling, construction, and outdoor play

• Opportunities for social development, where children can build friendships across age groups in a mixed-care setting

• Nutritious snack time (families provide snacks), with a strong focus on health and wellbeing

This flexible care option ensures continuity for children in a safe and familiar setting and provides families with valuable peace of mind knowing their child is receiving quality care before and after the kindergarten day.
