About Our Program.

At Little St Margaret’s, our thoughtfully structured daily routine provides children with a comforting sense of predictability and security—an essential foundation for confident learning and exploration. Each day is carefully balanced to include both indoor and outdoor learning experiences, intentional group times, and shared mealtimes that promote social connection and healthy habits.

While the core elements of the routine remain consistent, our program is also highly responsive to the unique needs, interests, and personalities of each group of children. The length and focus of each part of the day may vary depending on how the children are engaging, allowing educators to adjust in the moment to support deeper learning and wellbeing.

We place a strong emphasis on flexibility and offer extended periods of uninterrupted play, recognising that rich, sustained engagement is vital for meaningful learning and creativity to flourish. Children are given time and space to explore, investigate, and revisit ideas—nurturing both curiosity and perseverance.

Each group enjoys their own dedicated physical learning environment, which allows experiences, projects, and provocations to evolve over time. Materials can be left set up overnight and returned to the following day, encouraging continuity of learning and a strong sense of ownership over their learning space.
